Drinking with Li Bai
Drinking With Li Bai features one hundred haiku composed by New Zealand poet Doc Drumheller while he was visiting Enshi, Guangzhou, Guizhou, Suiyang, Shengze, Shanghai, and Beijing in China, and Odisha, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, New Delhi, Varanasi, Agra, Bodh Gaya, and Allahabad in India. On his travels Doc Drumheller has represented the Waimakariri District as a Cultural Ambassador to Enshi in a Sister City Cultural Exchange. He was appointed New Zealand Director of the Silk Road Poetry Project, and has represented New Zealand at international poetry festivals in China and India. Haiku from this collection were selected for Orongohau Best New Zealand Poems 2018 and 2020.
Strange Totems
Strange Totems explores the relationship between the spirit of the city and symbols of power in a modern metropolis. The transformation of the environment and the lack of connection to nature is an integral theme in this collection of work. This haiku is presented in three languages: English, Te Reo Maori, and Japanese. Poet Doc Drumheller was born in South Carolina in the USA but has lived in New Zealand for more than half his life and currently resides in Lyttelton. He teaches creative writing at the School for Young Writers.

Election Day of the Dead
"Election Day of the Dead comprises seventy haiku selected from more than four hundred Doc Drumheller wrote while travelling in the USA, Nicaragua, Mexico, and El Salvador. His travels coincided with several poetry festivals, the Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico, and the 2016 US presidential elections. The haiku are presented with Spanish versions by Dylan Brennan and images by Liliana Pérez-Brennan"--back cover.

Peter C. Newman called him "the Totem of the Titans." From a small Prairie town, Daryl K. "Doc" Seaman became an icon of Canadian business and hockey. He is one of the last of a breed of postwar entrepreneurs and sportsmen who forged modern Canada, striking deals on a handshake and always keeping their word. After flying 82 combat missions during the Second World War, Doc Seaman worked in the oil industry with his brothers, turning a small Alberta drilling business into a global giant, Bow Valley Industries. Later, he led a group that brought the Atlanta Flames to Calgary. Still a Flames co-owner, he helped reshape Hockey Canada and restore Canada’s glory in international hockey. Doc Seaman’s life is a remarkable saga of courage, resolve, generosity, and success. It ultimately leaves us not only with a deep appreciation of one iconic Canadian but also with a wider understanding of our country.
