IN THE 1ST GRADE, DURING RECESS, ONE OF SIANI'S CLASSMATES ASKED HER, "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR HAND?" SIANI ANSWERED, "I WAS BORN THAT WAY." I TOLD HER, "I WILL MAKE THAT A BOOK ONE DAY." TWELVE YEARS LATER, HERE IT IS. SIANI IS MY OLDEST DAUGHTER. SHE WAS BORN WITH A CONTRACTURE OF THE RIGHT WRIST. A SHORTENED TENDON PULLS HER HAND TOWARDS HER PINKY AND RING FINGERS. IT ALSO RESTRICTS THE MOVEMENT OF THOSE FINGERS. SHE HAS NEVER ALLOWED THAT TO STOP HER FROM DOING ANYTHING.I WROTE THIS BOOK TO ENCOURAGE AND INSPIRE THOSE THAT WERE BORN WITH A PHYSICAL DISABILITY, DISEASE, CANCER, AUTISM, MENTAL ILLNESS OR ANYTHING THAT THE WORLD WOULD CLASSIFY AS A DISADVANTAGE OR CHALLENGE. I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO AND BE ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO. DREAM. DREAM BIG AND THEN CHASE YOUR DREAMS.DONALD T. MITCHELL JR., AUTHOR
