PANTHEON'DAN GÜNÜMÜZE KUBBELERİN GELİŞİMİ
Tarihin en eski dönemlerinden beri, Neolitik çağlara kadar uzanan kullanımıyla kubbelerin inşa edilmeye devam ettiğini görmekteyiz. Buradan kubbelerin etkinliğini anlamamız mümkün. Mimaride malzemenin etkin kullanımı önemlidir. Çünkü mimarlık çok yönlü bir çalışma alanı olup, malzeme, sağlamlık, fonksiyon, ekonomi, estetik gibi birçok alanı bünyesinde barındırır. Kubbeleri daha etkin inşa etme çabaları günümüzde yerini ekolojik kubbe inşa etme çabalarına bırakmıştır diyebiliriz. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma konularının gündemde olduğu son yıllarda, ekolojik özellikleri ön planda olan kubbe tasarımları ön plana çıkmaya başlamıştır. Çalışmada tarihteki ilk kubbe örneklerinden biri olan ve günümüze kadar sağlam bir şekilde gelebilmiş olan Pantheon’dan başlayarak günümüzde yapılmış olan son kubbe örneklerine kadar kubbeler üzerinde yapılan irdelemeler üzerinden gidilerek kubbelerin gelişimi ortaya konmaya çalışılmış, malzeme kullanımı özelinde kubbelerin etkinlikleri irdelenmiş, günümüzde kubbe teknolojisinde gelinen son nokta belirtilmiştir.

The Ottoman Press (1908-1923)
The Ottoman Press (1908-1923) looks at Ottoman periodicals in the period after the Second Constitutional Revolution (1908) and the formation of the Turkish Republic (1923). It analyses the increased activity in the press following the revolution, legislation that was put in place to control the press, the financial aspects of running a publication, preventive censorship and the impact that the press could have on readers. There is also a chapter on the emergence and growth of the Ottoman press from 1831 until 1908, which helps readers to contextualize the post-revolution press.

Alternative Visions of Post-War Reconstruction
The history of post Second World War reconstruction has recently become an important field of research around the world; Alternative Visions of Post-War Reconstruction is a provocative work that questions the orthodoxies of twentieth century design history. This book provides a key critical statement on mid-twentieth century urban design and city planning, focused principally upon the period between the start of the Second World War to the mid-sixties. The various figures and currents covered here represent a largely overlooked field within the history of 20th century urbanism. In this period while certain modernist practices assumed an institutional role for post-war reconstruction and flourished into the mainstream, such practices also faced opposition and criticism leading to the production of alternative visions and strategies. Spanning from a historically-informed modernism to the increasing presence of urban conservation the contributors examine these alternative approaches to the city and its architecture.
