Politics Of Separatism

Constructed ideas of identity have been posing a threat to humanity in the name of separatism. It is now one of the biggest threats to the Indian nation-building process. The Indian government has invested crores of rupees to secure the unity of India. In spite of that, many parts of India are now demanding separate statehood or sovereign nation-state. Demands vary according to the motif, mode and magnitude. But behind every demand for full or partial political autonomy, their remains some unequal treatment which occurs in the eco-socio-political sphere and separatist movements often ta...

Narendra Modi & Northeast

From the days of election campaign for 2014 Lok Sabha, Northeast India occupied a special attention to Narendra Modi, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat. After taking oath as India’s Prime Minister, how his visionary ideas helped Northeast to become a ‘Development’ zone from a ‘Conflict’ zone, is the main crux of this Book. This book tries to test the hypothesis that “state versus community conflict in Northeast India can be managed through integrated thrust over ‘Development’ and ‘Security’ policies”. Human Security in a Polarized World

The term "polarization" describes the widening gaps in national economies, sociocultural views, and political beliefs. Ideological differences in politics can be a sign of it, resulting in impasse and a decline in confidence in democratic institutions. In terms of the economy, globalization exacerbates disparities between rich and poor regions, while polarization exacerbates wealth gaps and opportunity disparities. Social polarization breeds mistrust and intolerance, leading to identity-based disputes and further splintering society. Although globalization encourages integration and connectivity, it has also heightened polarizing tendencies. It exacerbates international instability, fuels trade disputes, and expands the wealth gap between the rich and the poor. Traditions and values are eroding as a result of cultural globalization. In this respect, globalization must be used to promote inclusivity, tolerance, and cross-national cooperation in order to combat polarization.
