Ilmu ekonomi mempunyai proses yang sangat panjang bahkan berabad - abad mengalami perkembangan yang relatif, mencoba untuk mensejarahkan antara masalah-masalah ekonomi berupa sumber-sumber daya ekonomi yang cenderung langka atau terbatas dengan kebutuhan dan keinginan secara ekonomis yang tidak terbatas. hal ini menjadikan proses ekonomi yang panjang berkembang dan menjadikan kajian-kajian para ilmuwan guna mencari suatu pendekatan yang dapat mensejajarkan kedua hal itu. dalam proses ekonomi baik masa lampau maupun masa kini, telah terjadi transaksi-transaksi yang cukup kompleks antara pembeli yang disebut konsumen dengan penjual yang disebut produsen. Transaksi-transaksi yang terjadi antara kedua pelaku pasar itu juga memberikan pengaruh signifikan pada perkembangan teori-teori ekonomi masa kini dan tentunya akan berdampak pada pola pikir ilmiah di masa yang akan datang. Untuk keperluan itulah buku dengan judul Pengantar Ekonomi ini sengaja penulis hadirkan secara ringkas dan dapat dengan mudah dimengerti agar kiranya dapat dijadikan pembelajaran untuk setiap orang yang ingin mengenal lebih dalam dunia ekonomi.
