Quevedo y sus ediciones de textos clásicos
Las páginas de este libro muestran, ordenadas por obras y autores, todas las citas de textos clásicos que, en latín y griego, ofrece Quevedo en sus obras para apoyar o ilustrar sus ideas. El número y naturaleza de las mismas da cumplida cuenta de las lecturas de Quevedo. Se han localizado las ediciones que manejó o pudo manejar para cada una de las citas, se han completado las mismas, y se han corregido, en su caso, los errores o erratas que se habían mantenido. El conjunto de obras y ediciones de textos clásicos grecolatinos citados por Quevedo constituye lo que llamamos la “biblioteca clásica” de Quevedo; algunas ediciones estuvieron, con toda seguridad, en su mesa de trabajo, porque existen ejemplares que llevan su nombre y rúbrica, o en cuyos márgenes encontramos anotaciones manuscritas de don Francisco. El estudio realizado ofrece no poca luz al profundo y rico diálogo de Quevedo con sus libros y cuestiona algunas afirmaciones sobre el mismo.

Birds
For many humans, birds are the most fascinating group of animals and they are definitely among the best-known and studied organisms. Thanks to global citizen science data, we know that there are some 50 billion individual birds in the world at present, which is about six birds for every human on the planet. Birds have an important role as indicators of the state of the environment, giving them high public value. Human-related global impacts such as climate changes and accelerating urbanization force extant species to continuous adaptations, population modifications, or even outright extinction. This book includes nine chapters covering such topics as bird genetics, the colour of avian plumage, conservation problems, sustainable hunting, habitat disturbance, range expansion and introductions, and long-term bird population changes and challenges.
