Partindo das noções de imagem, imaginário e representações sociais dos historiadores da cultura, aborda o uso das fotos pelo Sesc, a partir de um quadro mais amplo de produção fotográfica em São Paulo e de diálogos estéticos estabelecidos entre profissionais e amadores. Além disso, ao reproduzir fotografias de vários projetos desenvolvidos pela entidade, desde o seu nascimento, retrata a experiência cultural desafiadora oferecida pelo Sesc a seus frequentadores, e sua contribuição para a formação de uma identidade do comerciário no contexto da cultura urbana, desde os anos 1950, e de uma representação do corpo do trabalhador do comércio tanto na esfera do trabalho como no âmbito do tempo livre.

Allegories of Underdevelopment
" 'A camera in the hand and ideas in the head' was the primary axiom of the young originators of Brazil's Cinema Novo. This movement of the 1960s and early 1970s overcame technical constraints and produced films on minimal budgets. In Allegories of Underdevelopment, Ismail Xavier examines a number of these films, arguing that they served to represent a nation undergoing a political and social transformation into modernity. Birds without a Nest
"I love the native race with a tender love, and so I have observed its customs closely, enchanted by their simplicity, and, as well, the abjection into which this race is plunged by small-town despots, who, while their names may change, never fail to live up to the epithet of tyrants. They are no other than, in general, the priests, governors, caciques, and mayors." So wrote Clorinda Matto de Turner in Aves sin nido, the first major Spanish American novel to protest the plight of native peoples. First published in 1889, Birds without a Nest drew fiery protests for its unsparing expose of small town officials, judicial authorities, and priests who oppressed the native peoples of Peru. Matto de Turner was excommunicated by the Catholic Church and burned in effigy. Yet her novel was strongly influential; indeed, Peruvian President Andres Avelino Caceres credited it with stimulating him to pursue needed reforms. In 1904, the novel was published in a bowdlerized English translation with a modified ending. This edition restores the original ending and the translator's omissions. It will be important reading for all students of the indigenous cultures of South America.
1968: reflexos e reflexões
Em maio de 2018, o Centro de Pesquisa e Formação do Sesc São Paulo e as Edições Sesc propuseram a professores, pesquisadores e jornalistas – alguns deles testemunhas oculares do período – uma reflexão sobre o histórico ano de 1968. Desse encontro surge a coletânea 1968: reflexos e reflexões, que apresenta análises dos impactos causados no campo das artes, do urbanismo, da política e do comportamento após os confrontos físicos e ideológicos, violentos e libertadores, que ocorreram neste que é considerado um momento de viragem no pensamento e contemporâneo ocidental.
