Christian Co, KY

Christian County had published a county history in 1841 by Perin and again another by Charles Meachem in 1930. Both of these histories had a limited biography section in them. Under the leadership of president Lon Bostick, the Genealogical Society of Christian County and the many devoted people of the county at large, gave untiringly of their time and knowledge to compile and have published a third history of Christian County in 1986 which is primarily a family history with much social history. The people responded well with material and the book was getting so large that we had to stop receiving family histories. This left many without the opportunity to get their families recorded. Late in 1990, Lon had a job started and was not complete therefore the Odd Fellows of Green River Lodge #54 of Hopkinsville and Jewel Rebekah Lodge #14 (the auxiliary of the Odd Fellows) met and voted to compile and have published a continuation of Volume I of the Family Histories to be titled Edition I of Family Histories of Christian County.

EMUNCTOLOGY The Principles and Fundations of the Emunctory System Constituting the body of Health knowledge of the Emunctory System "History teaches us that the views of modern times constantly revert to those points which were regarded by earlier observers as settled, and thus, particularly nowadays, when so few have leisure for the historical study of science, there is perhaps ample justification for bringing old notions within the intellectual view of a succeeding generation." - R. Virobow's Preface to his “Gesammelte Abhandlungen zur Wissenschaftlichen Medicin” 1856 “Where a truth is made out by one demonstration, there needs no further inquiry; but in all probability where there w...

Vibrational Medicine

The original comprehensive guide to energetic healing with a new preface by the author and updated resources. • More than 125,000 copies sold. • Explores the actual science of etheric energies, replacing the Newtonian worldview with a new model based on Einstein's physics of energy. • Summarizes key points at the end of each chapter to help the serious student absorb and retain the wealth of information presented. Vibrational Medicine has gained widespread acceptance by individuals, schools, and health-care institutions nationwide as the textbook of choice for the study of alternative medicine. Trained in a variety of alternative therapies as well as conventional Western medicine, Dr. Gerber provides an encyclopedic treatment of energetic healing, covering subtle-energy fields, acupuncture, Bach flower remedies, homeopathy, radionics, crystal healing, electrotherapy, radiology, chakras, meditation, and psychic healing. A History of Death in 17th Century England

A look at the constant confrontation with mortality the English experienced in a time of plague, smallpox, civil war, and other calamities. In the lives of the rich and poor alike in seventeenth-century England, death was a hovering presence, much more visible in everyday existence than it is today. It is a highly important and surprisingly captivating part of the epic story of England during the turbulent years of the 1600s. This book guides readers through the subject using a chronological approach, as would have been experienced by those living in the country at the time, beginning with the myriad causes of death, including rampant disease, war, and capital punishment, and finishing with an exploration of posthumous commemoration, including mass interments in times of disease, the burial of suicides, and the unconventional laying to rest of English Catholics. Although the people of the seventeenth century did not fully realize it, when it came to the confrontation of mortality they were living in wildly changing times.

Distant Mental Influence

Professionals in modern psychology, behavioral medicine, and psychoneuroimmunology are exploring ways in which we can "mentally" influence our own bodies through hypnosis, imagery, visualization, attention, intention, and other forms of self-regulation--for fostering physical and psychological health and well-being. Is it possible for us to use such techniques to influence others, even at a distance, for purposes of healing? Is it possible for us to influence the images, thoughts, behaviors, and physiological reactions of other persons--separated by distance--without conventional sensory means of interaction? Can these abilities extend to animals and even to cells (e.g., human red blood cell...

Consciousness, Bioenergy and Healing

People have the potential to heal themselves and each other. Dr. Daniel Benor, a wholistic psychiatrist, explains how mind-body and body-mind interactions promote health or cause illness. Clear and concise explanations of a large body of research, clinical examples, and a variety of theory explain healing through complementary/alternative medicine. Dr. Benor reviews research-supporting claims that complementary/alternative therapies and bioenergy therapies are potent and effective treatments.

Energy and Information Transfer in Biological Systems

This volume contains papers based on the workshop OC Energy and Information Transfer in Biological Systems: How Physics Could Enrich Biological UnderstandingOCO, held in Italy in 2002. The meeting was a forum aimed at evaluating the potential and outlooks of a modern physics approach to understanding and describing biological processes, especially regarding the transition from the microscopic chemical scenario to the macroscopic functional configurations of living matter. In this frame some leading researchers presented and discussed several basic topics, such as the photon interaction with biological systems also from the viewpoint of photon information processes and of possible applications; the influence of electromagnetic fields on the self-organization of biosystems including the nonlinear mechanism for energy transfer and storage; and the influence of the structure of water on the properties of biological matter."
