The Chernobyl Sasakawa Health and Medical Cooperation Project completed its 5-year health screening project at the end of April 1996, and a total of about 160,000 children were examined in the project at the five diagnostic centers located around Chernobyl in Belarus, Russian Federation, and Ukraine.The results of the health screening have been separately published every year since 1992 by the respective centers on the basis of their presentation at the Chernobyl Sasakawa Medical Cooperation Symposium.
