Reconstructing Tomorrow
The Mitte district of Berlin is marked by numerous reconstructions of buildings, one of which is the newly erected Humboldt Forum. Daniel Theiler has investigated this quarter's cultural history and sociocultural context, while examining the manifestations of hierarchical power politics. This has resulted in a series of works by the artist/architect on the reconstruction of the Berlin Castle, which plays a major role in this volume, entering into a dialogue with interdisciplinary essays on the current debates about reconstruction. This first comprehensive catalogue of the artist's work compiles pieces from the last five years. Featuring a conversation between Natalie Keppler and Daniel Theiler, as well as essays by Ortrun Bargholz, Bertolt Meyer, Constanze Müller, Elke Neumann, Juliane Richter, Johannes Warda, Elisabeth Würzl, and a foreword by Anke Hannemann. DANIEL THEILER (*1981) is a German-Turkish artist and architect. He was a graduate student under Nina Fischer at the University of the Arts Berlin and studied architecture at the TU Berlin, the ETH Zurich, and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
Marschner's Mineral Nutrition of Higher Plants

Arbuscular Mycorrhizas: Physiology and Function
In the years since the first edition of “Arbuscular Mycorrhizas: Physiology and Function” was published, an exceptional proliferation of interest in mycorrhizal biology has developed. This has been associated with advances in different research disciplines such as genetics, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and physiology, advances which have generated better insight into topics of mycorrhizal biology, including the mechanisms of host-mycorrhiza interactions pre- and post-penetration, the influence of the symbiosis on the host and its surroundings, and the evolution and diversity of mycorrhization. Art beyond Borders
This book presents and analyzes artistic interactions both within the Soviet bloc and with the West between 1945 and 1989. During the Cold War the exchange of artistic ideas and products united Europe?s avant-garde in a most remarkable way. Despite the Iron Curtain and national and political borders there existed a constant flow of artists, artworks, artistic ideas and practices. The geographic borders of these exchanges have yet to be clearly defined. How were networks, centers, peripheries (local, national and international), scales, and distances constructed? How did (neo)avant-garde tendencies relate with officially sanctioned socialist realism? The literature on the art of Eastern Europe provides a great deal of factual knowledge about a vast cultural space, but mostly through the prism of stereotypes and national preoccupations. By discussing artworks, studying the writings on art, observing artistic evolution and artists? strategies, as well as the influence of political authorities, art dealers and art critics, the essays in Art beyond Borders compose a transnational history of arts in the Soviet satellite countries in the post war period. ÿ
Kitchen on the run
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Verein Über den Tellerrand e.V. plante das Fachgebiet Entwerfen und Baukonstruktion, Prof. Donatella Fioretti, Technische Universität Berlin im Wintersemester 2015/16 ein 1:1 Entwurfsprojekt für das Projekt Kitchen on the Run. Ein handelsüblicher Überseecontainer wurde zu einer mobilen Küche ausgebaut und mit räumlichen Erweiterungen versehen. In einem integralen Konzept wurden auch Regale, Tische und Bänke von Studierenden der Architektur entworfen und gebaut.
