Joseph Brendlinger was born in Germany in 1705. He married at least twice and brought his second wife Ana Maria Kocher with him to America about 1750. He had 10 children however, only five grew to adulthood. They settled in Pennsylvania and some of their children moved to Maryland and possibly Kentucky. Information on several families of descendants is given in this volume. Descendants continue to live in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
