"Traudl Lessing was born 1925 in Vienna, Austria. After the war she worked for Associated Press and then for Reuters news agency, marrying Erich Lessing in 1949. Their first joint reporting assignment took them to Spain in 1951. After spending a while in Paris she moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where she became Film and Photo Officer for the World Health Organization. Back in Austria Traudl Lessing became a correspondent for TIME Magazine, People Magazine and Sports Illustrated. For several years she was Secretary-General of the Foreign Press Association of Vienna. Traudl Lessing now writes the texts for her husband's Art and Culture Archives."--BOOK JACKET.
Photographs created by Austrian photographer Erich Lessing, documenting the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The photographs were printed in 2006 for an exhibition held at USC Libraries' Doheny Memorial Library commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution.
