İstanbul doğumlu olan sanatçı, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde sanat eğitimi görmüştür. Türkiye’de ve ABD’de uluslararası birçok kişisel ve karma sergiye katılmış; New York’ta, 1980li, 90lı ve 2000li yılları Manhattan Soho’daki atölyesinde geçirerek günümüz sanatının önemli akımlarını ve sanatçılarını tanıma fırsatı bulmuştur. 2006’da yolu Truva’ya, 2014’te ise Kapadokya’ya uğramış; 30 yılı aşkın sanat kariyeri boyunca, Avrupa ve Japonya’da sergilere, konferanslara ve çalıştaylara katılmış; İrlanda, İspanya, İtalya, Fransa, Finlandiya ve İsviçre’de sanatsal çalışma ve araştırmalarda bulunmuştur. İsveç’te, ABD’de ve Kanada’da Bienallere seçilmiş olan sanatçının eserleri bugün önemli koleksiyonlardadır. Ressam Mümtaz Yener’in kızı olan Nüshet Göksun (SAY) YENER bir erkek çocuk annesi olup akademisyenliği ve sanatçılığı bir arada sürdürmekte; deneyimlerini ve birikimlerini aktarmak adına yazarlık, jüri üyeliği, hakemlik, danışmanlık ve küratörlük de yapmaktadır.
Enlightening Encounters
Enlightening Encounters traces the impact of photography on Italian literature from the medium’s invention in 1839 to the present day. Investigating the ways in which Italian literature has responded to photographic practice and aesthetics, the contributors use a wide range of theoretical perspectives to examine a variety of canonical and non-canonical authors and a broad selection of literary genres, including fiction, autobiography, photo-texts, and migration literature. The first collection in English to focus on photography’s reciprocal relationship to Italian literature, Enlightening Encounters represents an important resource for a number of fields, including Italian studies, literary studies, visual studies, and cultural studies.
Classifying Foreign Fighters: The Case of YPG
Foreign fighters and returning foreign fighters are among the most important security issues that the Middle East and Europe is facing today. Although this topic has gained more attention in recent years, most of the academic studies on foreign fighters do not focus on the issue of classification. This book is based on a master's thesis and focuses on this somewhat neglected area of research by analyzing the discourse of foreign YPG fighters and finally proposing a classification for foreign YPG fighters based on their narratives. David Malet's PhD dissertation, which categorizes foreign fighters into four different types is particularly important and this study is based on Malet's classification. However, unlike Malet's thesis, this study focuses on one armed organization, the YPG, instead of a general categorization.

Power, Politics and Religion in Timurid Iran
Beatrice Forbes Manz uses the history of Iran under the Timurid ruler Shahrukh (1409–1447) to analyse the relationship between government and society in the medieval Middle East. She provides a rich portrait of Iranian society over an exceptionally broad spectrum - the dynasty and its servitors, city elite and provincial rulers, and the religious classes, both ulama' and Sufi. The work addresses two issues central to pre-modern Middle Eastern history: how a government without the monopoly of force controlled a heterogeneous society, and how a society with diffuse power structures remained stable over long periods. Written for an audience of students as well as scholars, this book provides a broad analysis of political dynamics in late medieval Iran and challenges much received wisdom about civil and military power, the relationship of government to society, and the interaction of religious figures with the ruling class.
