Public History of Education. A Brief Introduction
Is historical knowledge important for education? How can we build a shared historical knowledge with schools, communities, and education professionals? The book responds to these questions by suggesting the public history approach, as applied in education and, more generally, to all professions that are based on human relations. The public history of education refers directly to North American experiences, but at the same time it is part of a process of European cultural acceptance and re-elaboration that has one of its main points of reference in the Italian Public History Association. The objective is not to make history for the general public, but to make public history with all those interested, in a collaborative and participative context, in the quest for meaningful knowledge, directly related to the current and challenging needs of our society.

La Convenzione ONU sui diritti dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza tra storia e futuro: le ragioni di un anniversario
Il libro raccoglie gli atti del convegno Infanzia: diritti umani, azione educativa, ricerca organizzato dal Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione dell’Università degli Studi Roma Tre in collaborazione con Amnesty International Italia nel 30° anniversario della Convenzione delle Nazioni Unite sui diritti dell’infanzia. I contributi proposti valorizzano da più prospettive disciplinari la novità epocale della Convenzione del 1989, approfondendo i principali sviluppi del suo dettato giuridico sul piano della ricerca educativa, sul fronte della promozione umana e dell’integrazione sociale e scolastica dei bambini. Una parte del volume è dedicata ai diritti in azione, in quanto sono state inserite le testimonianze di due grandi organizzazioni (Amnesty International e Amref) per analizzare nei diversi contesti e nel quotidiano le discriminazioni (comprese quelle di genere) che continuano ad essere perpetrate a svantaggio di un progetto di benessere e di felicità per i bambini.
