Engineering Stochastic Local Search Algorithms. Designing, Implementing and Analyzing Effective Heuristics
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Workshop on Engineering Stochastic Local Search Algorithms 2009, held in Brussels, Belgium, September 3-5, 2009. The 7 revised full papers presented together with 10 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from more than 27 submissions. The topics include e. g. the use of run time distributions to evaluate and compare, high- performance local search for task scheduling with human, running time analysis of ACO Systems for shortest path problems, the explorative behavior of MAX-MIN ant system and improved robustness through population variance and colony optimization.
Computational Logic in Multi-Agent Systems
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Workshop on Computational Logic in Multi-Agent Systems, CLIMA-XI, held in Lisbon, Portugal in August 2010. The 14 papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 31 submissions. The purpose of the CLIMA workshops is to provide a forum for discussing techniques, based on computational logic, for representing, programming and reasoning about agents and multi-agent systems in a formal way. CLIMA 2010 featured two thematic special sessions on norms and normative multi-agent systems and logics for games and strategic reasoning.
Unfinished Business
Diagnosed with acute myelomonocytic leukaemia, the author started writing the sections of this book during the four months he spent in hospital being treated. The chapters are partly autobiographical, partly written for his children. The final sections were written after his release from hospital. He is now terminally ill.

Reactive Search and Intelligent Optimization is an excellent introduction to the main principles of reactive search, as well as an attempt to develop some fresh intuition for the approaches.
