A hipótese de utilização do judiciário para fins políticos tem sido aventada a partir de diferentes linhas de investigação no mundo todo. No Brasil, têm se destacado as categorias de pós-democracia, Estado de Exceção e Lawfare para descrever esse fenômeno. Este livro se propõe a habilitar no debate público brasileiro contemporâneo o conceito de justiça política, conforme construído por Otto Kirchheimer. Ao recorrer a esse conceito, mergulhando em bibliografia ainda pouco acessível ao leitor brasileiro em função da ainda pendente tradução de obras como "Justiça Política" para o português, esta obra investiga a hipótese de uma conceituação acurada do fenômeno jurídico-político que se desenrolou no país no chamado Caso Lula. A obra de Kirchheimer nos permite olhar a partir da lente de um jurista crítico do século XX cujos escritos sobre o constitucionalismo, a relação entre direito e política, a República de Weimar e a ascensão do nazifascismo na Alemanha reservam apontamentos que transcendem a distância temporal que guardam com a contemporaneidade.
A Dictionary of German-Jewish Surnames
This dictionary identifies more than 13,000 German-Jewish surnames from the area that was pre-World War I Germany. From Baden-Wuerttemburg in the south to Schleswig-Holstein in the north. From Westfalen in the west to East Prussia in the east. In addition to providing the etymology and variants of each name, it identifies where in the region the name appeared, identifying the town and time period. More than 300 sources were used to compile the book. A chapter provides the Jewish population in many towns in the 19th century.

Microbial Role in the Carbon Cycle in Tropical Inland Aquatic Ecosystems
Aquatic microorganisms are tidily related to the carbon cycle in aquatic systems, especially in respect to its accumulation and emission to atmosphere. In one hand, the autotrophs are responsible for the carbon input to the ecosystems and trophic chain. On the other hand, the heterotrophs traditionally play a role in the carbon mineralization and, since microbial loop theory, may play a role to carbon flow through the organisms. This book contains the first described species of Centris, even before the description of the genus. Considering this fact, the entire layout and color palette draw inspiration from the books of naturalists of the XVIII and XIX centuries. For the creation of the cover, I used one of the beautiful designs made by the German naturalist and scientific illustrator Maria Sibylla Merian (1647–1717), one of the first women in history who dedicated herself to in situ observation of insects.
