Concrete Invention
Concrete Invention is focused on the development of geometric abstraction in Latin America (Montevideo, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Caracas) throughout the decades of the thirties and seventies in the twentieth century. It includes theoretical essays about the movement, personal reflections by contemporary artists, and a visual section featuring specific themes (geometry, illusion, dialogue, vibration, universalism). It ends with a questionnaire given to well-known theorists about the continuity, value and influence of geometric abstraction in the present. Resembling an artist's book, it includes a fold-out piece by artist José León Cerrillo, which forms a play on words with the publication's title.

A Constructive Vision
This catalogue is the first extensive catalogue documenting the modern art portion of the collection. The book is organized in two sections: the first documents the history of the FC/CPPC through a historical account by Ariel Jiménez, a conversation between James Cuno and Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, and an essay by John Elderfield, on the relationship between the CPPC and The Museum of Modern Art, New York. The second section reproduces 175 works in color from the modern collection, organized by country and then alphabetically by artist.

The first comprehensive U.S. publication on a pioneer of Latin American art Establishing congruences between Modernist abstraction and the Pre-Columbian traditions of the ancient Americas, Uruguayan artist Francisco Matto (1911-1995) was a pioneer of Latin American art, and one of the most significant students of El Taller Torres-García, the workshop school established by Joaquín Torres-García. Matto remained in his native Montevideo, Uruguay for all of his life, and was financially secure enough to not need to sell or promote his work; consequently, it rarely circulates in international exhibitions, instead remaining in the estate of the artist and a few private collections in Montevideo, New York, Houston and Belgium. The Modern and the Mythic is the first comprehensive U.S. publication on Matto, and presents more than five decades of artistic production, from the artist's early work under Torres-García to his late works of the 1990s.
