By illustrating democratic-educational innovations and practices, school projects, good practice examples or teaching sequences this volume should serve as a source of inspiration for all interested educators.

Perspektiven auf die Berufsbildung zu gewähren, bedeutet, anderen Einblicke in die komplexe und vielfältige Welt der Berufsbildung zu gewähren und damit die Entwicklung neuer Sichtweise auf eine meist wenig vertraute Materie zu ermöglichen. Der vorliegende Sonderband der Reihe Forschungsperspektiven der Pädagogischen Hochschule Wien widmet sich unter dem Motto schwerpunktmäßig diesem Ziel. Unter dem Motto "Gleichwertig, aber nicht gleichartig" eröffnen 19 Autorinnen und Autoren in zehn Beiträgen unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf die berufliche Aus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung.

Band der Reihe Forschungsperspektiven mit dem Titel Mehr Begeisterung für MINT-Fächer werden zusätzlich zu aktuellen didaktischen und inhaltlichen Aspekten von Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik unter anderem auch Optionen sowie Chancen von Motivation, Innovation, Neugier und Talentförderung ausgelotet. Field Research in Africa
How do African scholars navigate the complexities of their own identities when researching in Africa or meet the challenges of being perceived as activists? What is the impact of long-term engagement in a particular region and local ties on research? Researchers working in Africa are engaged in ethical, methodological, logistical, emotional, and professional compromises, Juggling the demands of research with being human, scholars must balance the recording of data with the emotional demands of listening, of analysing, and reporting personal, and often contradictory, narratives. This book lays bare the process by which the researcher grapples with emotions, and how 'feelings' inform and shape data collection, interpretation, write-up, and dissemination. Based on on-the-ground work from Central African Republic to Rwanda, the DRC, Algeria, and South Africa, the contributors to this book reveal the ambiguities and inconsistencies that emerge at all stages of fieldwork and provide guidance on how to tackle this. Urban Wastelands
Faced with the growing demand for nature in cities, informal greenspaces are gaining the interest of various stakeholders - residents, associations, public authorities - as well as scientists. This book provides a cross-sectorial overview of the advantages and disadvantages of urban wastelands in meeting this social demand of urban nature, spanning from the social sciences and urban planning to ecology and soil sciences. It shows the potential of urban wastelands with respect to city dwellers’ well-being, environmental education, urban biodiversity and urban green networks as well as concerns regarding urban wastelands’ in relation to conflicts, and urban marketing. This collected volume focuses on women's suffering and the conditions of their societies during conflict and post-conflict situations in Iraq, Iran, Syria and other countries. The contributions examine and explore not only general narratives but also various specific aspects of the conflict and post-conflict situations in relation to the roles and statuses of these women, with a number of scholars reflecting on topics from various disciplines and key areas such as the Middle East. This collection also includes some articles on the suffering of women outside of the Middle East, thus illustrating the similarity of some general issues women have to face throughout the world.
How to Deal with Refugees?
2015 was without any doubt the year of migrations. Over the subsequent two years, we have certainly seen the migration flows reduce, but it was never going to be possible to halt them altogether. From the outset of this phenomenon, numerous academics and researchers have dedicated themselves to the topic. They analyse the causes, the course of the migration flows, parallels and impacts, as well as possible scenarios of the migration movement. A wide-reaching debate has evolved on the topic of migration, to which the authors in this anthology were also keen to contribute conflict regulations attempts. In this publication, historians, political scientists, philosophers, sociologists, geographers, human geographers, economists, literary scientists, legal scholars, theologians and psychiatrists from a range of European and Non-European countries have each contributed from their individual standpoints.
