The Cambridge History of Latin American Literature is by far the most comprehensive work of its kind ever written. Its three volumes cover the whole sweep of Latin American literature (including Brazilian) from pre-Colombian times to the present, and contain chapters on Latin American writing in the USA. Volume 3 is devoted partly to the history of Brazilian literature, from the earliest writing through the colonial period and the Portuguese-language traditions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; and partly also to an extensive bibliographical section in which annotated reading lists relating to the chapters in all three volumes of The Cambridge History of Latin American Literature are presented. These bibliographies are a unique feature of the History, further enhancing its immense value as a reference work.
"Este livro inspirador é uma constante viagem das trevas para a luz: capacitada com um profundo conhecimento sobre teatro, atuação e dramatização, além de uma fé robusta, Cally tem levado esperança e perspectiva às pessoas perdidas, desesperadas e rejeitadas. Como os dois discípulos no caminho de Emaús, ela fala sobre situações chocantes e sobre Jesus, agindo em seu nome para alcançar a vida daqueles que aparentemente estão além do alcance da humanidade." Kenneth Pickering
This study is a follow-up activity to the MIDSA Workshop on Migration and Development in Southern Africa, held in Zanzibar, Tanzania, in 2004. It assesses and analyses the migration and development situation of Angola and Zambia, with a special focus on skills migration and a review of government policies and capacity related to skills migration and initiatives of various stakeholders, including donors and civil society organizations. There is much greater awareness today that development affects migration, and that migration influences development. The challenge is to find innovative and effective ways to enhance the benefits of migration while mitigating its adverse development implications for emigration countries.
