Moses and Monotheism

The book consists of three essays and is an extension of Freud’s work on psychoanalytic theory as a means of generating hypotheses about historical events. Freud hypothesizes that Moses was not Hebrew, but actually born into Ancient Egyptian nobility and was probably a follower of Akhenaten, an ancient Egyptian monotheist. Freud contradicts the biblical story of Moses with his own retelling of events, claiming that Moses only led his close followers into freedom during an unstable period in Egyptian history after Akhenaten (ca. 1350 BCE) and that they subsequently killed Moses in rebellion and later combined with another monotheistic tribe in Midian based on a volcanic God, Jahweh. Freud explains that years after the murder of Moses, the rebels regretted their action, thus forming the concept of the Messiah as a hope for the return of Moses as the Saviour of the Israelites. Freud said that the guilt from the murder of Moses is inherited through the generations; this guilt then drives the Jews to religion to make them feel better.

What was the name of Noah's son who did not survive the Flood? Why do Pharaoh and Haman build the Tower of Babel? For what reasons does Moses travel to the ends of the Earth? Who is the 'Horned-One' who holds back Gog and Magog until the Day of Judgement? These are some of the questions answered in the oral sources and Quran commentaries on the stories of the prophets as they are understood by Muslims. Designed as an introduction to the Quran with particular emphasis on parallels with Biblical tradition, this book provides a concise but detailed overview of Muslim prophets from Adam to Muhammad. Each of the chapters is organized around a particular prophet, including an English translation o...

Exodus, Redemption Revealed

The book of Exodus reveals the redemptive plan of God taking the children of Israel out of Egypt and into the land of milk and honey, the Promised Land. After we are born again, our journey with Jesus/Yeshua, our Messiah, is a reflection of the children of Israel. We go through times of dryness when it seems God has forsaken us, our prayers dont go past the ceiling, and we are constantly distracted by vain imaginations. We are buffeted by the cares of this world and wonder if it will ever end. In the face of that discouragement, we are tempted to give up and return to our old pagan (un-Christian) ways. The Israelites often murmured against Moses and complained about their circumstance saying...

"I may be forgiven (maybe), but after what I've done, my life is basically over." "I'm damaged goods now. Forgiven? Sure. Able to be used? Maybe for little stuff (maybe), but never again for anything important." Ever thought things like that? Join the club! They're lies, though - lies we often speak to ourselves. Broken Tools In God's Hands was written so you can know God's rescuing grace more deeply and be set free to serve Him with new hope and joy in your heart. Do you think God can't use you when you're broken? Then ponder this: The truth is, God can only use you as He desires when you're broken - when you plainly see your sinfulness, your helplessness, your need for the Savior. That's w...
