Anhand von konkreten Beispielen zeigt das Buch, dass Events Bestandteile der heutigen Populär- und Alltagskultur sind. Das Buch arbeitet anhand von empirischen Fallstudien Tendenzender aktuellen Eventisierung von Populärkultur heraus. Hierdurch soll sowohl die gegenwärtige wissenschaftliche Diskussion weitergeführt, als auch Interessierten ein soziokulturelles Phänomen zugänglich gemacht werden, das in Feuilletons häufig als Kommerzialisierung, Vermassung und Verflachung verschiedener Bereiche des kulturellen Lebens abgetan wird.
