Hiroshi Harada

Hiroshi Harada

Over 40 years ago Japanese painter Hiroshi Harada swapped his homeland for Paris, in search of a new artistic creative language and structure. Even though the rectangular doesn't exist in nature, it has always been Harada's ultimate ambition to express all facets of his private world within this well-defined shape. Therefore, his works cannot be seen as abstract in the strictest sense of the word. Harada stayed true to the monochrome, until one given day a burst of color appeared in his black and white world; the sparkling yellow is typical in many of his works. The new vibrant colour palette confirmed that Harada has essentially always been looking for a way to give expression to his inner happiness, spirituality and joie de vivre. The artwork of Hiroshi Harada cannot possibly be captured in a single category. He is modern, not only in his way of painting, but also in the way he touches and overwhelms us with the exuberant colours from his inner repertoire, with lines and surfaces that intersect or not. Each of his paintings is an invitation to contemplation. In all, he stays true to his Eastern roots and the idea that beauty can be found in imperfection.

Algorithms & Architectures For Parallel Processing, 4th Intl Conf

ICA3PP 2000 was an important conference that brought together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and governments to advance the knowledge of parallel and distributed computing. The proceedings constitute a well-defined set of innovative research papers in two broad areas of parallel and distributed computing: (1) architectures, algorithms and networks; (2) systems and applications.

Wireless Communications 2007 CNIT Thyrrenian Symposium

The 18th Tyrrhenian Workshop on digital communications is devoted to wi- less communications. In the last decade, wireless communications research boosted launching new standards and proposing new techniques for the - cess technology. We moved from the UTRA standard capable to transmit 0. 5bit/s/Hz to WLAN which is promising 2. 7bit/s/Hz. Now wireless c- munication systems are facing a ?ourishing of new proposal moving from multiple antennas at transmitter and receiver side (MIMO systems), to new powerfulForwardErrorCorrectionCodes,toadaptiveradioresourcemana- mentalgorithms. The Toho Studios Story

Since its inception in 1933, Toho Co., Ltd., Japan's most famous movie production company and distributor, has produced and/or distributed some of the most notable films ever to come out of Asia, including Seven Samurai, Godzilla, When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, Kwaidan, Woman in the Dunes, Ran, Shall We Dance?, Ringu, and Spirited Away. While the western world often defines Toho by its iconic classics, which include the Godzilla franchise and many of the greatest films of the legendary director Akira Kurosawa and actor Toshiro Mifune, these pictures represent but a tiny fraction of Toho's rich history. The Toho Studios Story: A History and Complete Filmography provides a complete picture o...

Operating Systems for Supercomputers and High Performance Computing

Few works are as timely and critical to the advancement of high performance computing than is this new up-to-date treatise on leading-edge directions of operating systems. It is a first-hand product of many of the leaders in this rapidly evolving field and possibly the most comprehensive. This new and important book masterfully presents the major alternative concepts driving the future of operating system design for high performance computing. In particular, it describes the major advances of monolithic operating systems such as Linux and Unix that dominate the TOP500 list. It also presents the state of the art in lightweight kernels that exhibit high efficiency and scalability at the loss of generality. Finally, this work looks forward to possibly the most promising strategy of a hybrid structure combining full service functionality with lightweight kernel operation. With this, it is likely that this new work will find its way on the shelves of almost everyone who is in any way engaged in the multi-discipline of high performance computing. Cellulose and Other Natural Polymer Systems

The concept for a treatise covering selected natural polymer systems was initiated during a national meeting in cell biology in 1978. The challenge to the editor was to organize a book dealing principally but not exclusively with cellulose. A brief background may help to provide the reader with information to understand the reasons for the specific selections within this volume. better During the past decade, we have witnessed significant changes in the sciences as well as the day-to-day life styles of our citizens. It will not be forgotten that during the early seventies, a significant change was to take many Americans by surprise. The oil embargo on The United States caused unexpected shortages of fuels. The long gasoline lines impressed in the minds of Americans that our energy-rich future with non-renewable resources is limited. The modelling of ecosystems, population growth, urban development, etc., have continued to raise our awareness that life on earth, including renewable resources, is indeed fragile. Contrary to popular belief, even wood and wood products are not limitless.
