Biography of Ge Hong
Gehong（葛洪） (284-364 A.D.), known as Baopuzi, is a famous medical scientist in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. He is a Han nationality from Jindanyang County (now Jurong, Jiangsu Province). Ge Xuan's nephew of the Three Kingdoms is known as Xiaoxianweng. He was once appointed as Guannei Hou, and later retired to Luofushan Alchemy. Ge Hong was a famous doctor in the Eastern Jin Dynasty of China, and a guide of preventive medicine. He is the author of "Behind the Elbow", which first recorded some infectious diseases such as smallpox, tsutsugamushi disease and its diagnosis and treatment.
