Horsham Township

Horsham Township began as a farming and residential community. Today, the Willow Grove Naval Air Station is Horsham's largest employer and its most recognized feature. The predecessor of the air station was the Pitcairn Airfield. Here, Harold Pitcairn built the Mailwing airplane, delivered airmail along the East Coast, formed Eastern Air Lines, developed the Autogiro, and entertained celebrities such as Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart. Photographs in Horsham Township show the Quaker meetinghouse, which is the oldest religious building in Horsham and is still in continuous use; the highways that served the township farmers, such as Limekiln Pike, York Road, and Easton Road; and the trolley cars from Doylestown to Willow Grove that connected the township to Philadelphia.

A journey of discovery through our natural world. Bushcraft and survival legend Ray Mears takes us on his own lifetime's journey through the natural world, into the British countryside and across continents, and shows us how to tune our senses, enhance our experience of nature, and understand our place within it. Guiding us through practical fieldcraft tips, Ray brings us up close with creatures we share our planet with, and reveals how we can learn from them, from the stealth of the leopard to the patience and stillness of the crocodile, and even the colour-changing camouflage of the octopus. With Ray as your companion, you will unlock the hidden secrets of the wild and begin to see, instead of merely look.

The Horsham district is one of the most scenically attractive and geologically complex areas of south-east England. This memoir is the first account of the geology of the district, describing the lithologies and structure of the rocks that crop out, and reviewing their sedimentary history - relating it to the deep geological structure that has been revealed by exploration for hydrocarbons. It also examines the geological history of the district back to Carboniferous times, more than 300 million years ago.
