Ngêdeblag, Sebuah Tradisi Penolak Wabah
Di Desa Kemenuh, Gianyar, Bali, ada pesta Haloween ala Bali. Tradisi ini bernama Ngêdeblag, dilakukan setiap Sasih Kalima (sekitar bulan Oktober). Warga Kemenuh menghias badan mereka dengan pakaian dan warna hitam-putih sehingga tampak seperti bhuta kala. Lalu, mereka berkeliling desa sambil membunyikan alat-alat musik, kentongan atau logam apa pun yang berbunyi nyaring. Sebagai salah satu warisan budaya lokal, Ngêdeblag didokumentasikan dalam bentuk tulisan pendek oleh dua penulis buku ini. Tradisi Haloween dari Bali ini ternyata tidak hanya menjadi ajang bersuka cita, tetapi lebih daripada itu. Ngêdeblag adalah sebuah ritual magis yang bertuah.

Buku ini menyajikan narasi fraud dalam konteks global dan di Indonesia. Diawali dengan penyajian “mukadimah” tentang Skandal Korporasi dan Akuntan, dan diakhiri dengan narasi tentang Fraud dan Budaya (organisasi). Sebagai “report on work in progress”, buku ini membuka ruang diskursus lebih lanjut tentang fraud dan implikasinya, tentang pelaku dan rasionalisasinya (yang dibingkai Teori Fraud), serta tentang strategi pencegahan dan pendeteksiannya. Narasi utama yang ingin disampaikan dalam buku ini: ikhtiar pemberantasan fraud perlu menimbang konteks dan budaya yang melingkupinya, tidak cukup hanya dengan pendekatan “struktural” semata, dan pencegahan fraud saatnya menjadi yang utama.
