The Physics of Stargates

An accessible introduction to modern physics that focuses on wormholes and discusses among other topics their structure, stability, dynamics, operation as time machines, utility as portals to parallel universes, and their implications for the distant future of humanity. Read the wormhole FAQ and the bullet point "principles" scattered throughout to quickly absorb the basics of wormhole physics. Go back and read the interstitial material for greater depth. Written by a physicist with years of experience in gently introducing physics to the mathematically challenged, it also covers the history of wormhole physics and delineates the unsolved problems at the forefront of research.

Anthropology of Color

The field of color categorization has always been intrinsically multi- and inter-disciplinary, since its beginnings in the nineteenth century. The main contribution of this book is to foster a new level of integration among different approaches to the anthropological study of color. The editors have put great effort into bringing together research from anthropology, linguistics, psychology, semiotics, and a variety of other fields, by promoting the exploration of the different but interacting and complementary ways in which these various perspectives model the domain of color experience. By so doing, they significantly promote the emergence of a coherent field of the anthropology of color. As of February 2018, this e-book is freely available, thanks to the support of libraries working with Knowledge Unlatched.

Geometric Approaches to Quantum Field Theory

The ancient Greeks believed that everything in the Universe should be describable in terms of geometry. This thesis takes several steps towards realising this goal by introducing geometric descriptions of systems such as quantum gravity, fermionic particles and the origins of the Universe itself. The author extends the applicability of previous work by Vilkovisky, DeWitt and others to include theories with spin 1⁄2 and spin 2 degrees of freedom. In addition, he introduces a geometric description of the potential term in a quantum field theory through a process known as the Eisenhart lift. Finally, the methods are applied to the theory of inflation, where they show how geometry can help answer a long-standing question about the initial conditions of the Universe. This publication is aimed at graduate and advanced undergraduate students and provides a pedagogical introduction to the exciting topic of field space covariance and the complete geometrization of quantum field theory.

The Worldwide List of Alternative Theories and Critics

This Worldwide List of Alternative Theories and Critics (only avalailable in english language) includes scientists involved in scientific fields. The 2023 issue of this directory includes the scientists found in the Internet. The scientists of the directory are only those involved in physics (natural philosophy). The list includes 9700 names of scientists (doctors or diplome engineers for more than 70%). Their position is shortly presented together with their proposed alternative theory when applicable. There are nearly 3500 authors of such theories, all amazingly very different from one another. The main categories of theories are presented in an other book of Jean de Climont THE ALTERNATIVE THEORIES

Everything About Gravity - Proceedings Of The Second Lecospa International Symposium

The proceedings of the 2nd LeCosPA International Symposium, 'Everything about Gravity', collects 78 papers contributed by the symposium's Plenary Session and Parallel Session speakers. Organizers of the Parallel Sessions have in addition prepared summaries for their own sessions. The topics range from quasi-local energy in GR in the presence of gravitational radiations, a gauge theory perspective of gravity, naked black hole firewalls related to the black hole information loss paradox, a new theory of spacetime quantization, relations between the Schwinger effect and the Hawking radiation and Unruh effect, conformal frames in cosmology, surprises in nonrelativistic naturalness, inflation and...

Internal Structure of Black Holes and Spacetime Singularities

The physics of black holes and spacetime singularities is now a well established area of research in gravitation theory. Over recent years researchers have begun to study the internal structure of black holes and spacetime singularities. This book is primarily the proceedings of a workshop devoted to the subject. The chapters are mainly written versions of the talks given at the workshop. However, the authors have written extended introductions to their contributions, so that a reader, well versed in gravitation theory, but unaware of the current research in this subfield, should be able to follow the text Several topics are considered by more than one author, bringing into the text differen...

New Proofs for the Existence of God

New Proofs for the Existence of God

With the incredible popularity of recent books championing agnosticism or atheism, many people might never know that such books almost completely ignore the considerable evidence for theism uncovered in both physics and philosophy over the past four decades. New Proofs for the Existence of God responds to these glaring omissions. From universal space-time asymmetry to cosmic coincidences to the intelligibility of reality, Robert Spitzer tackles a wealth of evidence. He considers string theory, quantum cosmology, mathematical thoughts on infinity, and much more. This fascinating and stunning collection of evidence provides solid grounding for reasonable and responsible belief in a super-intelligent, transcendent, creative power standing at the origins of our universe.
