Due to the unfortunate events of 2020, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) has become trendy without the public truly understanding the systemic and structural impacts that the discipline is intended to interrupt. DEI impacts myriad institutions. DEI is not a checkbox; it is soul work, and until we interrogate the ills and wills of our souls, the individual "I" will never transform the institution. Transformative Social Change in Organizations and Institutions: A DEI Perspective focuses on the transformative social change that DEI is meant to have within organizations and institutions. Covering topics such as DEI strategy, performance vs. impact, and workplace dynamics, this reference work is ideal for government officials, faith communities, doctoral students, educational agencies, researchers, and students.

Reviewing the Past

Though constantly in decay, ruins continue to fascinate the observer. Their still-standing survival is a loud affirmation of their presence, in which we can admire the struggle against the power of Nature aesthetically manifested during the decay. This volume takes a thematic approach to examining the aesthetics of ruins. It looks at the general aspects of architectural decay and its classical forms of admiration and then turns towards ruins from both classical and contemporary periods, from both Western and non-Western areas, and with examples from “high art” as well as popular culture. Combining the methodologies of art history, aesthetics and cultural history, this book opens up new ways of looking at the phenomenon of ruins.

These are discussed as possibilities to create different textures and weaving effects supported by figures of patterns, colour view, and fabric appearance simulation. Secondly, it explains original methods for design of new weave patterns based on Boolean operations, musical scores, written texts and braille alphabet, including transformations performed, advantages/disadvantages, possible applications and designs.
