"On January 22, 2005, Inuit from communities throughout northern and central Labrador gathered in a school gymnasium to witness the signing of the Labrador Inuit Land Claim Agreement and to celebrate the long-awaited creation of their own regional self-government of Nunatsiavut. This historic Agreement defined the Labrador Inuit settlement area, beneficiary enrollment criteria, and Inuit governance and ownership rights.

This monograph consists of word and affix-lists, as well as grammatical observations, concerning the language of the Southern Labrador Inuit from 1694 to 1785. They were collected from written texts of this period and show that the language of these eighteenth century Inuit is almost identical with that of their contemporaries in the Eastern Canadian Arctic./Ce travail présente sous forme de listes de mots et d’affixes ainsi que de remarques grammaticales les données linguistiques continues dans les textes d’époque portant sur les Inuits du Labrador méridional, de 1694 à 1785. Provisions of the agreement cover such matters as Inuit eligibility & enrolment, land & non-renewable resources, water management & water rights, ocean management, economic development, projects in the Voisey's Bay area, national parks & protected areas, land use planning, environmental assessment, wildlife & plants, fisheries, archaeology & other cultural resources, place names, self-government, fiscal financing agreements, capital transfers, taxation, dispute resolution, and ratification & implementation of the agreement.
Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement
Initialled at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, this 29 day of August 2003, by the Chief negotiators for the Inuit of Labrador as represented by Labrador Inuit Association, Her Majesty the Queen in right of Newfoundland and Labrador and Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada, signifying their intent to recommend this land claims agreement for ratification in accordance with the ratification provisions of chapter 22.

Remembering the Years of My Life
This book was written by my late atatsiak (grandfather) Paulus Maggo. It is a very inspirational book about the experiences that he had in his life. I love this book, and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in Inuit history, culture and traditions. I do not remember a lot of my atatsiak ... and he never really got to tell me stories about his life while he was growing up. I feel that this book is a way for me to see through his history and what he went through throughout his life.
