Book of Records
The opening page of the volume indicates that it is a book of records as maintained by the secretary of the North Iowa Medical Society which was organized at McGregor, Iowa, on June 22, 1859. The opening pages includes the by-laws and constitution of the society. Following a brief code of ethics and a list of members, the volume is filled with brief entries documenting the meetings of the society. Entries end on page 234 with an entry for October 29, 1903. The pages from 235 to 299 are blank followed by a list of members as of December 1, 1897. Pages 302 to 349 are blank and a list of three honorary members is included on page 350. The volume is bound but is an extremely fragile condition.
