Evaluation of the performance characteristics of a personal exposure monitor developed by IREQ. Tests were conducted in December 1987 and January 1988 in free field conditions for linearity, low-field capability, minimum readings, transition width, vector summation, isotrophy of magnetic response, comparison to calibration, dynamic range, bin width, frequency and temperature dependence, overload capability, timing constancy, battery drain and voltage, and crosstalk. Dosimetric aspects of wearing locations and the electromagnetic channel (5-20 MHz) were not studied.

Introduction to the Formal Design of Real-Time Systems

but when we state that A 'equals' B , as well having to know what we mean by A and B we also have know what we mean by 'equals'. This section explores the role of observers; how different types of observ er see different things as being equal, and how we can produce algo rithms to decide on such equalities. It also explores how we go about writing specifications to which we may compare our SCCS designs. • The final section is the one which the students like best. Once enough of SCCS is grasped to decide upon the component parts of a design, the 'turning the handle' steps of composition and check ing that the design meets its specification are both error-prone and tedious. This section introduces the concurrency work bench, which shoulders most of the burden. How you use the book is up to you; I'm not even going to suggest path ways. Individual readers know what knowledge they seek, and course leaders know which concepts they are trying to impart and in what order.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 21st European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems, ADBIS 2017, held in Nicosia, Cyprus, in September 2017. The 26 regular papers presented together with one keynote paper and one keynote abstract were carefully selected and reviewed from numerous submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections such as conceptual modeling and human factors; subsequence matching and streaming data; OLAP; graph databases; spatial data management; parallel and distributed data processing; query optimization, recovery, and databases on modern hardware; semantic data processing; and additional database and information systems topics.

Our responses to our thermal environment have a considerable effect on our performance and behavior, not least in the realm of work. There has been considerable scientific investigation of these responses and formal methods have been developed for environmental evaluation and design. In recent years these have been developed to the extent that detailed national and international standards of practice have now become feasible. This new edition of Ken Parson's definitive text brings us back up to date. He covers hot, moderate and cold environments, and defines these in terms of six basic parameters: air temperature, radiate temperature, humidity, air velocity, clothing worn, and the person's a...
