ICGCS 2021
Responding to evolving challenges toward achieving gender equality and social inclusion. 30-31 August 2021, Indonesia. This event, organized by Pusat Studi Gender, Anak, dan Keluarga (PPGAK) ‘The Center of Gender, Children, and Family Studies’ Universitas Andalas aims to promote new insights and discussion about the current global perspectives, considering the differences in academic and subject fields’ approaches across time, countries, and economic sectors, with its implications and to improve and share the scientific knowledge on gender research. Is meant to open our horizon that the issue of gender and social inclusion may be viewed from various disciplines and perspectives. This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 1st International Conference in Gender, Culture and Society, held online from Padang, Indonesia, August 30-31, 2021. The 85 revised full papers were carefully selected from 124 submissions. The papers are organized thematically in gender, culture and society. The papers present a wide range of insights and discussion about the current global perspectives on gender research.
Sosiologi Gender
Interaksi dan proses sosial, kebudayaan dan perubahan sosial adalah fokus sosiologi yang membedakan dengan ilmu sosial lainnya, dalam Sosiologi Gender aspek tersebut dikaji secara mendalam dengan memperhatikan struktur dan relasi gender. Filosofi Sosiologi Gender membuka permasalahan secara kritis tentang ketertinggalan perempuan, di mana akar permasalahan ini terus dikembangkan menuju kondisi ideal yang ingin dicapai yaitu keadilan dan kesetaraan gender. Secara dinamis Sosiologi Gender diharapkan mampu menjelaskan struktur sosial masyarakat berbasis gender, relasi gender, dan kebudayaan sebagai basis relasi tersebut, kesemuanya itu merupakan fenomena yang tidak statis dan dapat diimplementasikan dalam konteks pembangunan untuk mencapai keadilan dan kesetaraan gender. Mengkaji komunitas pedesaan di Indonesia adalah sangat penting karena mayoritas masyarakat Indonesia tinggal di daerah pedesaan.

This is an open access book. Indonesia, as a member of ASEAN, is now facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2016. The AEC will support the ASEAN’s transformation into a region that guarantees free movement of goods, services, capital, and skilled labors. This will make ASEAN an even more dynamic and competitive region. In preparation for the AEC, the ASEAN member countries have ventured to improve the comparability and connectivity of their TVET systems. As an important component of human resources development, TVET is expected to play an active role in preparing the successful EAC. The implications of technological, economic and social trends are intervening factors that refine pedagogical strategies, leading to the molding of TVET as a more effective platform to catalyze pragmatic approaches to prepare the workforce for the new imperatives of the world of work. Regional integration and harmonization of TVET in the region have become key concerns and at the same time the strength of the ASEAN region. They are considered the overarching interventions needed in TVET to address major issues and challenges.

The Covid-19 pandemic teaches that aspects of information and communication technology in education management are full of limitations. Inevitably, educational users have moved dramatically to online channels. Students and teachers are accustomed to learning from home. There are opportunities, as well as challenges. Although the pandemic isn’t over yet, future updates are needed.
