Concerning Bishop Chase's recovery from an accident; saying "The letter from the good Bishop Chase which you kindly forwarded give me the great satisfaction of knowing that he is in a way through misery of recovering his former good health and strength though it is to be fear'd that the corporal injuries which he received will require a considerable length of time for him to overcome entirely all the sad effects of the accident that was permitted to befall him - but he received it from the hand of his divine Master with that submission and patience becoming his truly christian character - and I fully trust that through divine Grace he will be preserved for many years of usefull labours in the great Cause to which he so zealously devotes all his powers and that he will see the good and pious work that he is engaged in quite compleat to the glory of Him who he so faithfully serves and to the everlasting blessings of thousands of immortal Souls. I regret that my residing at a distance from the metropolis precludes my having the pleasure of waiting upon you, but hope you will do me the favor of a visit here for a few days when it may suit your convenience."
