The Legacy of Peter Henry Dierks, 1824 to 1972
Peter Henry Dierks (1824-1908) was born at Suderstapel, an area now in the Schleswig-Holstein Province of Germany. In 1849 he married Margaretha Dorothea Tauk (or Touck) who was born in 1829 and died in 1902. Together with their small son they immigrated to the United States in 1852, settling in eastern Iowa. Descendants lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, California, and elsehwere.
