How can theologians, philosophers, and ordinary people think about the Holy Spirit in the twenty-first century? This volume offers one model: the pneumatology of minoritarian communal interpretation, the alternative creation of meaning within an oppressive majority context. Garber looks at the stories of Saul, Ezekiel, and Jesus in the Gospels; the Radical Reformers of the sixteenth century; and a contemporary group of "spiritual but not religious" artists to see how they understand the Spirit working in their lives. He weaves together the theories of John Howard Yoder, Deleuze and Guattari, and media theorists like Stanley Fish, Jeremy Stolow, and Thomas Lindlof as a theological and philosophical background to those stories. In the end, the Holy Spirit is "being weird like Jesus together"--and Garber offers some observations on what that might look like, throughout history and today.
With the advent of computational intelligence-based approaches, such as bio-inspired techniques, and the availability of clinical data from various complex experiments, medical consultants, researchers, neurologists, and oncologists, there is huge scope for CI-based applications in medical oncology and neurological disorders. This book focuses on interdisciplinary research in this field, bringing together medical practitioners dealing with neurological disorders and medical oncology along with CI investigators. The book collects high-quality original contributions, containing the latest developments or applications of practical use and value, presenting interdisciplinary research and review articles in the field of intelligent systems for computational oncology and neurological disorders. Drawing from work across computer science, physics, mathematics, medical science, psychology, cognitive science, oncology, and neurobiology among others, it combines theoretical, applied, computational, experimental, and clinical research. It will be of great interest to any neurology or oncology researchers focused on computational approaches.

"This is a study of the NT witness to how Jews and Jewish Christians perceived the relationship of Moses with Israel and with the Jewish people. This is a narrowly tailored study, focusing specifically on that relationship without treating Moses in the New Testament comprehensively. The study consults ancient writings and historical material to situate the NT Moses in a larger milieu of Jewish thought. It contributes both to the knowledge of ancient Judaism and the to illumination of NT religion and theology, especially Christology."
He's waited twenty years. He'll wait no longer. A gripping stand-alone thriller by the author of the Sunday Times bestselling Byrne and Balzano series. Johnny Angel is found brutally murdered with a dead prostitute in his bed and a needle full of heroin in his arm. It's all the more shocking because he's a priest. But when Dr Bennett Marc Crane, a prestigious plastic surgeon, is the next victim of a vicious attack of the same manner, it becomes clear that there is a serial killer on the loose... And as this homicidal maniac exacts his vengeance upon more innocent victims, evidence of another long-buried crime is uncovered. One that starts with a Halloween celebration at an exclusive college party twenty years ago and ends with a murderous plan for delayed revenge. For Nicky Stella, a hungry journalist, this is just the sort of sordid story that could land him a cover article. Technology companies claim to connect people through touchscreens, but by conflating physical contact with emotional sentiments, they displace the constructed aspects of devices and women and other oppressed individuals’ critiques of how such technologies function. Technology companies and device designers correlate touchscreens and online sites with physical contact and emotional sentiments, promising unmediated experiences in which the screen falls away in favor of visceral materiality and connections. While touchscreens are key elements of most people’s everyday lives, critical frameworks for understanding the embodied experiences of using them are wanting. In Touch Screen Theory, Mic...
Covid and . . . How To Do Rhetoric in a Pandemic is among the first edited collections to consider how rhetoric shapes Covid’s disease trajectory. Arguing that the circulation of any virus must be understood in tandem with the public communication accompanying it, this collection converses with interdisciplinary stakeholders also committed to the project of social wellness during pandemic times. With inventive ways of thinking about structural inequities in health, these essays showcase the forces that pandemic rhetoric exerts across health conditions, politics, and histories of social injustice.
