Geological Disaster Monitoring Based on Sensor Networks
This book presents the outcomes of the workshop sponsored by the National Natural Sciences Foundation of China and the UK Newton Fund, British Council Researcher Links. The Workshop was held in Harbin, China, from 14 to 17 July 2017, and brought together some thirty young (postdoctoral) researchers from China and the UK specializing in geosciences, sensor signal networks and their applications to natural disaster recovery. The Workshop presentations covered the state of the art in the area of disaster recovery and blended wireless sensor systems that act as early warning systems to mitigate the consequences of disasters and function as post-disaster recovery vehicles. Remote Sensing Based Building Extraction
Building extraction from remote sensing data plays an important role in urban planning, disaster management, navigation, updating geographic databases, and several other geospatial applications. Even though significant research has been carried out for more than two decades, the success of automatic building extraction and modeling is still largely impeded by scene complexity, incomplete cue extraction, and sensor dependency of data.
