Annotation High-performance computing and networking (HPCN) is driven by several initiatives in Europe, the United States, and Japan. In Europe several groups encouraged the Commission of the European Communities to start an HPCN programme. This two-volume work presents the proceedings of HPCN Europe 1994. DawnDusk Asymmetries in Planetary Plasma Environments Dawn-dusk asymmetries are ubiquitous features of the plasma environment of many of the planets in our solar system. They occur when a particular process or feature is more pronounced at one side of a planet than the other. For example, recent observations indicate that Earth's magnetopause is thicker at dawn than at dusk. Likewise, auroral breakups at Earth are more likely to occur in the pre-midnight than post-midnight sectors. Increasing availability of remotely sensed and in situ measurements of planetary ionospheres, magnetospheres and their interfaces to the solar wind have revealed significant and persistent dawn-dusk asymmetries....
Raoul De Keyser
Since 1964, the Belgian painter Raoul De Keyser has been building a highly personal body of work that is exceptionally difficult to categorize. With great individuality, he has successfully reconciled a number of apparent contradictions: figuration versus abstraction, the physicality of paint versus the ephemerality of the image, and exploration of the fundamentals of painting versus references to his personal life and surroundings. Since 1980 De Keyser sets off resolutely down his own path and also marked the beginning of his steadily growing success.

Our knowledge of the heliosphere in three dimensions near solar minimum has advanced significantly in the last 10 years, largely as a result of the on-going ESAINASA Ulysses mission.
