Integrative Geschichtsphilosophie in Zeiten der Globalisierung
Die gegenwärtigen Erfahrungen mit der Globalisierung und die daraus resultierenden Erwartungen an die Zukunft haben historische Dimensionen. Um die aktuellen Probleme zu lösen, bedarf es einer integrativen Philosophie der Geschichte, die sowohl methodologisch reflektiert als auch inhaltlich fundiert ist. Johannes Rohbeck zeigt, dass zwar jede historische Darstellung von bestimmten Methoden des Erklärens und Erzählens modelliert wird, dass aber auch umgekehrt die Wahl historiographischer Methoden grundlegende Überzeugungen über den Gegenstand Geschichte voraussetzt. Kritisch rekonstruiert werden dazu die Geschichtsphilosophie von der europäischen Aufklärung bis zu Kant, Hegel und Marx sowie der Historismus, das Posthistoire und die analytischen Philosophie der Geschichte.
Geschichtsphilosophie zur Einführung
Geschichtsphilosophie beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, welche Erfahrungen wir mit der Vergangenheit gemacht haben, welche Orientierungen wir daraus für die Gegenwart gewinnen können und was wir für die Zukunft erwarten dürfen. Hat die Geschichte einen Sinn? Gibt es überhaupt »die« Geschichte? Und wie ist historische Erkenntnis möglich? Um solche Fragen zu beantworten, werden drei Typen des Geschichtsdenkens und deren wichtigste Vertreter dargestellt: die Geschichtsphilosophie von der Aufklärung bis Hegel, der Historismus des 19. Jahrhunderts und das sogenannte Posthistoire vom 20. Jahrhundert bis heute. Den Schluss des Bandes bildet der Versuch einer Synthese dieser Großorientierungen mit der Perspektive einer kritischen Geschichtsphilosophie.
