John Kemmis (1731-1822) was wounded in the British army during the attack on Quebec during the French and Indian War. He married Mary Darragh, and settled near Shushan, Washington County, New York. He later also served in the Revolutionary War (as an officer). Descendants and relatives lived in New York, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
