January 4th, 1843 Answer of Judge John Scott to the charges of Martin P. Brooke of Fauquier County addressed to the House of Delegates. Of note, Brooke accused Scott of various improper actions in his official duties; in response, Scott reviewed and denounced each charge, as well as protested the House's assumption of an "inquisitorial power."
