John Wheelock (1754-1817), second president of Dartmouth College. Dartmouth College Class of 1771. The papers contain the personal correspondence of John Wheelock and of his wife, Maria Suhm Wheelock, documenting family life in New Jersey and Hanover, New Hampshire. Also includes correspondence between John Wheelock's daughter, Maria, and William Allen, and correspondence between Mills Olcott and the Presbyterian Church concerning John Wheelock's bequest to the church, and the resulting Wheelock endowment at the Princeton Theological Seminary.
