In a world of subtle horrors, Elizabeth Mason is about to meet one monster she never counted on - herself. On the day of her 18th birthday Liz undergoes a strange metamorphosis which, for reasons unknown, causes her to transform into the monster called Crush! As if growing up isn't hard enough without that, Liz soon has to deal with a deadly, ruthless agent tailing her... with teenage werewolves. At least she has her best friend, Jen Tanaka, to count on. And what at first seems to be a curse may be the very thing that leads her to understand who she truly is.

Indiana Land Entries. Volume 2

Although described as "Part 1," this volume of Vincennes District land records is apparently all that was published. It covers approximately the central third of the Vincennes District, comprising all of the present counties of Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Martin, and Pike; and over half of Monroe and Lawrence. Beginning in 1807 and extending as late as 1877, the records transcribed here give the names of about 12,000 purchasers of land as well as the specific location of their land and the date of the record.

This Special Issue on the Systematics and Phylogeny of Weevils presents 31 new research papers on one of the most diverse and successful groups of animals on Earth, the beetle superfamily Curculionoidea. It was in part inspired to commemorate the extraordinary life and scientific achievements of Guillermo (“Willy”) Kuschel (1918–2017), who shaped this field of science over the last century like no other weevil systematist. The papers in this memorial issue span weevil faunas from all over the globe, including South and Central America, Africa, Europe and the Near East, South-East Asia, New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand. They include major advances on the phylogeny and classificatio...

A Cultural History of Medicine in the Age of Empire

"Patient, disease and physician were the three corners of the 'medical triangle' according to one of the texts attributed to Hippocrates, a famous ancient Greek doctor. This volume, covering a period from roughly 800 BCE to 800 CE, examines and deconstructs these three aspects of ancient medicine in the Mediterranean world. It shows that, while physicians sought to assert themselves as experts in the medical art, they had to contend with numerous other healers whose methods, remedies and tools patients often favoured. It explores the ways in which civic entities, cities, kingdoms and empires, and their officials directly and indirectly shaped medical encounters and discoveries. It examines t...
