BROKEN TEENS. BROKEN DREAMS. Manhattan is plunged into fear. When truckloads of the new power drug, Lumen, go missing, and an unnatural earthquake strikes, authorities declare a citywide tactical alert. As Lumen's destructive effects spread so do rumors of a persuasive stranger luring hobos underground. But E's got her own trash to deal with: being fourteen and on the run just totally sucks. And then there's the situation with the Piper. How can she even explain to Troy and Mia that the person they're mourning is not truly dead? Of a one-track mind, E is on a reckless rampage to hunt down her kidnapped brother, unaware she is being hunted herself. But how long can E ignore the trail of corpses she's leaving behind? EXAMINING THE PAST TO UNDERSTAND THE PRESENT

This book is about his journey as a political refugee from Cuba to the United States. It's about the challenges, disappointments, and victories that destiny threw in his path. To bring in American poet Robert Frost, Jorge had two paths to choose to follow: one leading to an honorable life and the other taking him to a disreputable future. Looking back on the strong Judeo-Christian values that his family had given him, and with no support system to fall back on, he chose the path that led him to the man that he is today--a proud American who is eternally thankful for the opportunities that our country gave him, a proud husband with a forty-five-year marriage, a proud father of a wonderful son...

Rental Housing Wanted

This book highlights the importance of renting and its potential to help solve the most pressing housing problems in Latin America and the Caribbean. Currently, 1 in 5 households in the region rent their homes, a trend which is most prevalent among the fastest-growing segments of the population, such as young people, single-person households and divorced people. This alternative can therefore help satisfy demand preferences and create greater residential mobility. Also, the quality of rented property is often similar to that of formal homes, even for households in the lowest income quintiles, proving it is an efficient and cost-effective alternative for resolving the qualitative and quantitative housing deficits in the region, suggesting that housing policies linked to better planning and improved territorial organization can lead to more dense, compact cities. For these reasons, the rental market may become a key instrument to compliment the region's housing policy.
