Per aquest motiu l'Exposició de Nadal esdevé un cas singular: any rere any s'ha dut a terme a la ciutat de valls, fins a celebrar, enguany, la seva seixantena edició. Aquest llibre commemora aquest aniversari fent un repàs de la trajectòria d'aquesta mostra artística, que ocupa un lloc preeminent en la història cultural de la nostra ciutat.
Mediterranean Seafarers in Transition
This volume discusses the effects of industrialization on maritime trade, labour and communities in the Mediterranean and Black Sea from the 1850s to the 1920s. The 17 essays are based on new evidence from multiple type of primary sources on the transition from sail to steam navigation, written in a variety of languages, Italian, Spanish, French, Greek, Russian and Ottoman. Questions that arise in the book include the labour conditions, wages, career and retirement of seafarers, the socio-economic and spatial transformations of the maritime communities and the changes in the patterns of operation, ownership and management in the shipping industry with the advent of steam navigation. The book offers a comparative analysis of the above subjects across the Mediterranean, while also proposes unexplored themes in current scholarship like the history of navigation. High Resolution Archaeology and Neanderthal Behavior
The aim of this book is to provide a new insight on Neanderthal behaviour using the data recovered in level J of Romaní rockshelter (north-eastern Spain). Due to the sedimentary dynamics that formed the Romaní deposit, the occupation layers are characterized by a high temporal resolution, which makes it easier to interprete the archaeological data in behavioural terms. In addition, the different analytical domains (geoarchaeology, lithic technology, zooarchaeology, taphonomy, anthracology, palaeontology) are addressed from a spatial perspective that is basic to understand human behaviour, but also to evaluate the behavioural inferences in the framework of the archaeological formation processes.

És un autor versàtil que ha tocat molts gèneres i estils: de narrativa per adults a assaig, passant per novel·la infantil, juvenil i llibres educatius. Va estudiar Història de l’Art i ha dedicat part de la seva carrera literària a divulgar-ne. Ha guanyat diversos premis com el Premi Josep Maria Folch i Torres o el premio Strega. La seva obra s’ha traduït a altres llengües com el polonès, l’italià, el vietnamita, el rus, el japonès o el turc, entre d’altres.
