The collection includes letters and journals from Marshall's time at Harvard and during his world tour in 1913-1915, photographs of Marshall at Harvard and with members of Harvard clubs, and of people and places encountered during his world tour; letters from his time in the Army press corps in Paris, photographs and lantern slides of his work with the Red Cross relief effort in Poland, and letters from the Belgian relief effort before returning to the U.S. Also includes letters written by his wife, Elizabeth Metcalf Marshall, while the couple was living in Paris and typescripts of the Marshall family history. Additional items include collected religious volumes from the early 19th century and Marshall family papers documenting their life in mid-19th century Kansas.
