O tráfico de migrantes em Portugal
Este projecto incidiu sobre uma área que não tem sido objecto de tratamento sistemático em Portugal. Nos termos do concurso de financiamento, as principais realidades sob observação foram o tráfico de mão-de-obra, o tráfico de mulheres e o tráfico de crianças (embora muito pouca informação tenha sido encontrada sobre este último tema). A perspectiva utilizada foi a da imigração de cidadãos estrangeiros, não tendo sido objecto de estudo outros movimentos, nomeadamente os que envolvem a saída de portugueses. A Emergência das Migrações no Feminino
A presença crescente das mulheres nos fluxos migratórios de e para Portugal foi um dos dois aspetos da imigração em Portugal a que o Fórum Gulbenkian Migrações dedicou a sua atenção em 2010/2011. O fórum baseou-se na realização de um conjunto de workshops em que participaram atores do terreno, representantes das comunidades de imigrantes, agentes das entidades oficiais e académicos e teve por finalidade fazer um diagnóstico da situação das migrações no feminino e apresentar uma série de recomendações sobre o tema dirigidas aos responsáveis públicos, às organizações da sociedade civil e aos próprios migrantes. O presente volume dá precisamente conta da investigação, do debate e das recomendações sobre as migrações no feminino produzido pelo Fórum sob a coordenação de Pedro Góis e José Carlos Marques, ambos do Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra.

Postcolonial Portuguese Migration to Angola
Grounded in extensive and original ethnographic fieldwork, this book makes a novel contribution to migration studies by examining a European labour migration to the Global South, namely contemporary Portuguese migration to Angola in a postcolonial context. In doing so, it explores everyday encounters at work between the Portuguese migrants and their Angolan “hosts”, and it analyses how the Luso-African postcolonial heritage interplays with the recent Portuguese-Angolan migration in the (re-)construction of power relations and identities. Immigrant Entrepreneurship
This Special Issue aims to provide an extensive mapping of policies in the promotion of ethnic entrepreneurship in a number of countries. It is motivated by the desire of national and municipal Governments to create an environment conducive to setting up and developing SMEs in general and immigrant businesses in particular. Furthermore it also highlights how the third sector has also had a crucial role in the reinforcement of immigrant entrepreneurship, and provides indications of how best to address this issue at a Governmental level in the future.

New and Old Routes of Portuguese Emigration
This open access book offers a comparative overview on Portuguese emigration in Europe and outside the EU in times of recession. It looks at Portuguese emigrants who, after the crisis of 2008, moved both intra-EU, such as UK, France, Switzerland, Germany and Spain, but also into countries with historical links, such as the USA and Canada, and to Portuguese speaking countries such as Brazil, Angola and Mozambique, as well as the processes of return. In addition to the dynamics of movement, the book provides an in-depth analysis of the heterogeneity of this emigration. It deepens the multifaceted identities concerning social and professional pathways among highly skilled and less skilled emigrants. The labour market continues to be the main regulatory force of Portuguese emigration, which helps to explain the outflow and the processes of settlement and return. Nonetheless, this book demonstrates that non-economic factors have likewise been of great importance in the decision to emigrate. As such this book will be a valuable read to policy makers, students and scholars in migration.

Imigração e Mercado de Trabalho
Este número da revista Migrações é subordinado ao tema da imigração e mercado de trabalho em Portugal. O seu principal objectivo é dar a conhecer a realidade actual e algumas tendências da incorporação laboral dos imigrantes no nosso país. Para tal, são divulgados estudos sobre alguns dos principais segmentos de imigrantes que exercem actividade económica em Portugal; sobre as mais recentes tendências, incluindo as que se ligam à sucessão de fases de aceleração e desaceleração da imigração e sobre a incorporação laboral dos jovens descendentes de imigrantes; e sobre alguns actores institucionais nesta área. São ainda apresentadas algumas iniciativas, promovidas por entidades governamentais e privadas, que têm permitido uma inserção mais eficaz dos imigrantes no mercado de trabalho.
