This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Foundations of Software Science and Computation Structures, FOSSACS 2006, held in Vienna, Austria in March 2006 as part of ETAPS. The 28 revised full papers presented together with one invited paper were carefully reviewed and selected from 107 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections.
Foundations of Software Science and Computation Structures
ETAPS 2004 was the seventh instance of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. ETAPS is an annual federated conference that was established in 1998 by combining a number of existing and new conferences. This year it comprised ?ve conferences (FOSSACS, FASE, ESOP, CC, TACAS), 23 satellite workshops, 1 tutorial, and 7 invited lectures (not including those that are speci?c to the satellite events). The events that comprise ETAPS address various aspects of the system - velopment process, including speci?cation, design, implementation, analysis and improvement. The languages, methodologies and tools that support these - tivities are all well within its scope. Di?erent blends of theory and practice are represented, with an inclination towards theory with a practical motivation on the one hand and soundly based practice on the other. Many of the issues inv- ved in software design apply to systems in general, including hardware systems, and the emphasis on software is not intended to be exclusive.
Formal Techniques for Networked and Distributed Systems - FORTE 2005
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 25th IFIP WG 6.1 International Conference on Formal Techniques for Networked and Distributed Systems, FORTE 2005, held in Taipei, Taiwan, in October 2005. The 33 revised full papers and 6 short papers presented together with 3 keynote speeches were carefully reviewed and selected from 88 submissions. CONCUR'99. Concurrency Theory
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Concurrency Theory, CONCUR'99, held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in August 1999. The 32 revised full papers presented together with four invited contributions were selected from a total of 91 submissions. The papers address all areas of semantics, logics, and verification techniques for concurrent systems, in particular process algebras, Petri nets, event-structures, real-time systems, hybrid systems, stochastic systems, decidability, model-checking, verification, refinement, term and graph rewriting, distributed programming, logic constraint programming, typing systems, etc.

The languages, methodologies, and tools which support these - tivities are all well within its scope. Di erent blends of theory and practice are represented, with an inclination towards theory with a practical motivation on one hand and soundly-based practice on the other. Many of the issues involved in software design apply to systems in general, including hardware systems, and the emphasis on software is not intended to be exclusive.

ETAPS is an annual federated conference that was established in 1998 by combining a number of existing and new conf- ences. This year it comprised ?ve conferences (CC, ESOP, FASE, FOSSACS, TACAS), 17 satellite workshops (AVIS, BYTECODE, CEES, CLASE, CMSB, COCV, FAC, FESCA, FINCO, GCW-DSE, GLPL, LDTA, QAPL, SC, SLAP, TGC, UITP), seven invited lectures (not including those that were speci?c to the satellite events), and several tutorials.
