Including work on email, fax and paper correspondence, this fourth edition is useful for those studying or working in business, commerce or administration who needs to correspond in English. It is also useful for learners at the lower-intermediate and intermediate levels, but more advanced learners who are unfamiliar with business correspondence.
Company to Company is for anyone studying or working in business, commerce or administration who needs to correspond in English. It is particularly suitable for learners at the lower-intermediate and intermediate levels, but more advanced learners who are unfamiliar with business correspondence will also find it invaluable. The fourth edition of this highly successful course contains thoroughly updated content and includes extensive work on email correspondence. It follows the successful interactive task and feedback approach of the previous editions.

Since 1975, the Marcel Grossmann Meetings have been organized to provide opportunities for discussing recent advances in gravitation, general relativity and relativistic field theories, emphasizing mathematical foundations, physical predictions and experimental tests. The objective of these meetings is to facilitate exchange among scientists that may deepen our understanding of space-time structures and to review the status of ongoing experiments aimed at testing Einstein's theory of gravitation from either the ground or space. The Eighth Marcel Grossmann Meeting took place on 22-27 June, 1997, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. The scientific program included 25 plenary talks and 40 parallel sessions during which 400 papers were presented. The papers that appear in this book cover all aspects of gravitation, from mathematical issues to recent observations and experiments.
This volume contains 3 invited papers, 15 regular papers, and 22 poster papers that were selected for presentation at the Third International Conference on Discovery Science (DS 2000), which was held 4-6 December 2000 in Kyoto. The Program Committee selected the contributed papers from 48 submissions. Three distinguished researchers accepted our invitation to present talks: J- frey D. Ullman (Stanford University), Joseph Y. Halpern (Cornell University), and Masami Hagiya (University of Tokyo). The Program Committee would like to thank all those who submitted papers for consideration and the invited speakers. I would like to thank the Program Committee members, the Local Arrangements Committe...
The evolution of solid-state circuit technology has a long history within a relatively short period of time. This technology has lead to the modern information society that connects us and tools, a large market, and many types of products and applications. The solid-state circuit technology continuously evolves via breakthroughs and improvements every year. This book is devoted to review and present novel approaches for some of the main issues involved in this exciting and vigorous technology. The book is composed of 22 chapters, written by authors coming from 30 different institutions located in 12 different countries throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. Thus, reflecting the wide inter...
This book introduces needed theoretical instruments and offers an up-to-date discussion on fundamental physics as well as the experimental tools used and developed for the construction and exploitation of gravitational wave antennae (resonant bars, ground-based and space interferometric detectors). In addition, problems in the fields of optics, signal processing, control and feedback in active mechanical filtering are deeply analyzed, with reference to recent solutions adopted in the main detectors.
