Some Must Push Some Must Pull
Mary Taylor, daughter of Joseph Taylor and Harriet Sidwells, was born in 1835 in Derbyshire, England. She married William Bert Simmons (1799-1866), son of Edward Simons and Sele Wetherell, in 1857 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had five children. She died in 1899 in Willow Creek, Idaho.
He Counted Them, One by One
Francis Starkey (1832-1911) was born in Hurley, Warwickshire, England to John and Mary Pearcy Starkey. In 1861 he married Jane Matthews (1833-1913). They were both members of the L.D.S. Church. They were the parents of eight children, all of whom were born in England. In 1882 they were finally able to immigrate to Utah where they settled in Roy and became respected members of the community. Descendants live in Utah.
My Grandma Mary
A children's story book about a grandmother sharing the story with her granddaughter of how she came to Zion with the Martin Handcart company in 1856 from far away England. Mary had many hardships along the way but is grateful for surviving the journey and the many blessing she has had in her life including her children and grandchildren. The story is told in simple terms with beautiful illustrations by Kimberli Johnson.

Barnabas Lathrop Adams and His Descendants
Barnabas Lathrop Adams was born 28 August 1812 in Beverly, Leeds, Ontario. His parents were Joshua Adams (1780-1863) and Elizabeth Chipman (1786-1856). He married Julia Ann Banker (1826-1915) in 1846 in Des Moines, Iowa. They had ten children. He married Hannah Gove Chase (1834-1897) in 1856 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had six children. He married Ellen Nelson (1847-1888) in 1867. They had one son. Barnabas died in 1869. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Utah, Idaho and California.
