Bitter Honeydew
Winner of the European Publishers Award for Photography, Bitter Honeydew depicts the lives of those who run roadside stalls in Ukraine - 'tochka' - where they sell fruit according to the season. Golovchenko's images speak of his compassion for these uprooted men and women, about the bitterness in their lives. Sapeurs
British photographer Tariq Zaidi presents a fashion subculture of Kinshasa & Brazzaville: La Sape, Societe des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Elegantes. Its followers are known as 'Sapeurs' ('Sapeuses' for women). Most have ordinary day jobs as taxi-drivers, tailors and gardeners, but as soon as they clock off they transform themselves into debonair dandies. Sashaying through the streets they are treated like rock stars - turning heads, bringing 'joie de vivre' to their communities and defying their circumstances.

Situated "7 km" away from Odessa, Kirill Golovchenko has photographed one of the largest marketplaces in the world. The market, the oldest part of which was set up immediately after the Second World War, and thus during a long-gone Soviet era, is still known today as the "Field of Wonders."

Private Reality is about youth culture and being a teenager in the 1970s. As McKell turned from teenager to young adult, existential angst preoccupied his thoughts as it does for many teenagers, yet the project came together through his lens as he experimented through his photography. For McKell it was his rite of passage, a coming of age, as he began to look at the world and to understand it through the camera.
