Researching Leadership in Early Childhood Education
Researching Leadership in Early Childhood Education focuses on leadership research in early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings in seven countries from different parts of the world: Australia, Azerbaijan, England, Finland, Norway, Taiwan and Trinidad and Tobago. This publication emerged through conversations that began at the inaugural &‘International Leadership Research Forum' (ILRF) held in Finland in 2011. It introduces theoretical perspectives and the history of leadership research as well studies on management practices in different countries. This publication responds to the challenges of developing further research into early childhood leadership in a rapidly changing world where young children and families continue to gather at ECEC settings. Effective leadership from early childhood educators can make a difference in ensuring every child enjoys high quality ECEC programs that nurture their wellbeing and developmental potential to the fullest.

Gender Equity and Access to Economic Opportunities in Agriculture in Botswana
This is a report of a study commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Division of Planning and Statistics (DAPS) in the wake of the Fourth UN Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995. The objective of the study was to consider the extent to which women are disadvantaged in the agricultural economy and the appropriate role for government in reducing any disparities. One of the statistical evidence the study presents suggests that, while on average women farm less land than men, they compensate for their relative lack of access to land by higher productivity. Secondly, although older women own less livestock than men, younger women farmers own as many cattle as male farmers of the same age. The report presents a profile of the role of women in agriculture faced by women. Discusses the role for government in alleviating gender imbalances in agriculture. Also presents the recommendations of the study and proposed plan of action.
Nordisk utdanningsforskning
Undersøgelsen fastslår, at det nordiske uddannelsesforskningsfelt kendetegnes af et stort mangefold både i disciplintilknytning og perspektiver, i forskningsfokus og forskningsmetodik, publicering og formidling. Forfatterne mener, at denne situation bidrager til, at feltet uddannelsesforskning kan være vanskelig at definere præcist og dermed afgrænse. Rapporten synliggør imidlertid, at en større grad af samarbejde og øget koordinering på feltet, kan give en nordisk merværdi på en række områder. Hovedformålet med studiet er, at undersøge mulighederne for et nordisk uddannelsesforsknings- og formidlingsinitiativ gennem en kortlægning af igangværende og planlagte uddannelsesforskningsinitiativer i de nordiske lande og selvstyrende områder, samt indhente synspunkter om hvilke felter og i hvilken form et eventuelt nordisk initiativ kan være hensigtsmæssigt. Studiet er udarbejdet for Nordisk Ministerråd af Norsk Institutt for studier av innovasjon, forskning og utdanning, NIFU STEP i samarbejde med Technopolis.
